Data and Reporting Analytics Consultant V, Programming, Kaiser Permanente
I work as an individual contributor at Kaiser Permanente. I strive to create meaning for my stakeholders. I often pull data from multiple systems, including SQL server, oracle and even DB2. I then blend these into useful reports for end users or to be input into downstream systems. I have worked on audit membership data as well as financial data in healthcare
I started my data journey by taking an interest in mathematics at quite a young age. I saw my first proof and was hooked. Numbers could become meaningful and show truth. In college i studied abstract algebra and received a masters degree from University of Glasgow. Looking into abstract proofs helped hone my problem solving skills, and allows me to think outside the box.
I then started working with SQL in access databases at a community college. Eventually I landed an analyst role at Kaiser Permanente. It was here that I started my Alteryx journey. I quickly became adept at creating ETL workflows, and soon moved on to Analytic apps and creating macros that i could reuse. I have worked with chained apps, standard macros, batch macros and iterative macros.
I strive to find simple ways to accomplish complex tasks, enjoying elegance in my work. I used to be a math tutor so I have learn to teach patiently and know hands on work is the best way to learn.
