On my internal Sharepoint, I invite others to “geek out” with me on Alteryx things! I enjoy sharing my passion for data and analytics with others. It gives me that amazing positive energy and vibe that makes everything worthwhile especially the “ah-ha” moment others receive during one of my demos, and I especially love the “I had no idea you could do that!” I think what makes me successful in my projects is the fact that I listen to my customers and business partners, and I do not settle for good enough. I strive to give my best effort and solution to them.
I started out in accounting and finance which brought out that naturally inquisitive and investigative nature, and as I progressed through my career, I was given more analytical Microsoft Excel projects with complicated formulas and formatting. We soon discovered the daily reporting requirements and demands were not sustainable in Excel. That’s when we started using Qlikview, and I discovered I had a knack beautifully visualizing data for the right audience! As we started to enhance our reporting, more advanced analytical questions like industry and peer benchmarking began.
This was the spark of my passion and the turn of my career. I loved the data deep dive, analytics, and visualization. I decided if I wanted to do this work that I love in my everyday job, I would need to develop myself. I received opportunities within a company that would allow me to work as a business analyst to gather requirements to learn so that I can learn more about data warehouses, architecture, SQL queries, etc. And, at the same time, I started my Masters in Analytics with Texas A&M.
I graduated a few years ago with my master's degree. Now, I am a Senior Business Analytics Manager developing the workflows that include business logic/exceptions into views that power my user-friendly designed dashboards.
