Jay Garcia brings over 15 years of program management, education & community outreach, leadership, talent creation & upskilling, and personal & corporate branding experience.

Prior to Alteryx, Jay led Fortinet’s Global Veterans Program, Network Security Academy Program, and the Education Outreach & Community Engagement Program. Jay excelled in the cybersecurity industry, where he developed award winning talent creation and upskilling programs by capitalizing on a flexible blend of human resources, marketing, sales, training, technical and business development skills, and by applying the intangible traits acquired in his 20-year military career.

Prior to Fortinet, Jay supported recruiting, higher ed programs, onboarding, curriculum development, equal opportunity, branding, training and development, sales support operations, and held various leadership roles in the US Marine Corps.

Jay currently leads Alteryx’s SparkED Education Program for the US-West & LATAM and Alteryx’s DoD Skillbridge Program, is an Advisory Committee Member for the College of Professional & Continuing Education (CPaCE) at CSU Long Beach, a Forbes Coaches Council Member, a LinkedIn Top Voice, a George W. Bush Institute Scholar, a San Diego Business Journal Top 50 Influential Veteran Business Leaders and has held multiple Board Member roles with various nonprofit organizations.

Jay holds a master’s in psychology, a bachelor’s in social & criminal justice, various continuing education certificates, has presented and keynote at numerous tech conferences, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and military installations in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, LATAM, and all major cyber commands.
