Technology and AI are the future, and the tech industry is where I see my future. However, it's a hard place to learn about, and reading articles/ blogs is only the tip of the iceberg. I believe it is always essential to keep building our professional selves. It is easy for us to stagnate when we don't surround ourselves with development opportunities, and it's hard to find people willing to mentor when everyone is busy with life in general. To wrap this up, I want to grow my professional self and gain knowledge from those who can help direct me down the right path in the ever-growing tech industry.
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, the "Surf Capital," I wasn't one to chase waves. My California spirit manifested differently - a love for the outdoors, from cycling and hiking to simply soaking up the sunshine with friends. This outgoing nature translated perfectly into customer-facing roles throughout most of my career.
My first professional adventure began at a small LA startup, where I wore many hats - including head of sales and marketing. Building relationships and the thrill of trade shows fueled my passion. However, a desire for deeper knowledge led me back to school. I stayed local, attending California University of Long Beach, where I honed my communication skills by majoring in Communication Studies with a focus on Mediation & Dispute Resolution. Public speaking tournaments further sharpened my ability to connect with audiences.
Shortly after graduating, fate intervened. A friend offered me an incredible opportunity at Alteryx, a pioneering tech company. This ignited a new passion within me. In this dynamic industry, the possibilities are endless. I'm excited to keep learning, growing, and building a fulfilling career in the ever-evolving world of technology.
